The Legacy of Sri Alevur Rama Krishna Bhat
Born in 1913 in Alevur, Udupi District, Sri Alevur Rama Krishna Bhat moved to Mysore at the age of 10. Starting as a supplier in the hotel industry, he worked his way up to become a manager by 1956.
That same year, he founded Hotel Vishwa Bhavan, a boarding and lodging facility near Mysore’s City Devaraja Market. In 1960, he established Hotel Prakaash, a multi-story hotel that became a well-known name in Mysore’s hospitality sector.
In 2014, Hotel Prakash was modernized and rebranded as Hotel Prakaash Palace, continuing its legacy of over 64 years of quality service and excellence in hospitality.
